COMPLETION OF THE VIABILITY AND HLA TESTS OF BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL SAMPLES STORED ORIGINALLY BY THE FORMER SERVICE PROVIDER

This information is addressed to the customers of the former service provider in connection with which we have been authorized as a contact point for the customers of the former service provider.

PBKM S.A.-parent company of FamiCord Group (“FamiCord”) is the largest family stem cells bank in Europe.

Samples of almost all families being customers of the former service provider were transferred in accordance with all technical and medical requirements in the year 2019 and 2020 from various European locations to the Warsaw facility.

In order to ensure the most accurate information regarding the quality of the transported samples, FamiCord Group had agreed to a proposal deriving from a group of Italian parents to have a third-party laboratory perform a series of viability and biocompatibility tests on samples of their children.

After months of intensive work, the tests have been completed and the results interpreted.

Those tests have proven beyond any doubt that the biological material did indeed belong to the owners and that it had been properly stored over the years.

In particular, the analysis of more than 200 viability and HLA test results proves conclusively that:

• the cryopreservation process of the samples, coming from different periods of activity of the previous service provider, was carried out correctly - at this point, it should be noted that the panel of results obtained for cell viability excludes the hypothetical possibility of overheating and subsequent re-freezing of the samples in question

• the stored material belongs to its legitimate owners - thus, through independent HLA testing, full biological compatibility was confirmed
